UIAA Youth Support for youth ice climbing competition in 2012

In 2012 the UIAA and ARISF supported the production of three ice climbing videos made at a competition for helping Federations make their own competitions and also to explain to the audience the competition format and rules. This was done by making 3 videos which can be used on a screen 3m x 3m:

  • Route setting (for officials of youth competitions)
  • Training for young climbers (for developing federations)
  • Rules – commentary and explanation of competition rules for the audience

We thanks ARISF The Association of IOC Recognised International Sports Federations (ARISF) http://www.arisf.org/ for their support. ARISF logo.

The UIAA Youth Commission and a pool of experts are currently developing advice sheets on specific topics.

  1. Young people and the use of climbing walls
  2. Forming a junior ice climbing competition team
  3. Developing a youth programme and strategy in your Federation

More advice sheets will follow.
