Mt Kazbek 2005
Between 3 July – 9 July 2005, Russian and Georgian young mountaineers took part in an ascent of Mt Kazbek. The atmosphere was good, although the trip was exhausting for those who were not so physically fit. Read more and see pictures taken by one of the Russian participants here

Expedition Elbrus 2005
17 young people from Germany, Italy, Czech Republic and Ukraine took part in this expedition, 8 – 19 July 2005. Because of bad weather, not all the participants were able to complete the ascent, but they now have the experience of taking part in an international expedition and have made friends from other countries. International Youth Rock Climbing Festival 2005
International Youth Rock Climbing Festival “Europe – Asia 2005” was held in the Urals in July 15-29 2005. 25 young people from Russia, Austria, the US and Spain met up for campfires, live music, environmental projects and of course rock climbing. Read more here.

Alta via Della Valmalenco Trekking
The trek went through the Alta Via della Valmalenco at the feet of the highest mountains of Valmalenco - Disgrazia, Bernina and Scalino. There were 30 participants, 22 young people and eight youth trainers from Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland and Italy. The young people were between 14 and 17 years old. Read more and see pictures here.

Rocks Are For Everybody
This event took place from 8 June 2005 – 19 June 2005 in the Urals. It included an International Seminar on route setting on natural rock for sport climbs, considering local style and ethics. After the seminar was finished, 60 climbers took part in an “On-sight Marathon” competition on the new routes. Read more and see pictures here.

Ecological Work camp Kaunergrat, Austria   
This international Ecological Work camp 2005 took place in the west of Tyrol from 24. - 31. 7. 2005. The 22 participants, from the Ukraine, Hungary, Germany, Slovenia and Austria, planted trees, removed rocks and tore down an old hut. There was of course also time to socialise and enjoy the mountains.   Read more and see pictures here

Cross-Cultural Mountain Conservation Project 2005
This event was arranged by the Himalayan Adventure Trust – Japan (HAT-J) from August 23-28, 2005. 56 international youth participants and leaders as well as 13 youth participants from Japan and a number of HAT-J members and volunteers joined the meet. Countries represented were Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, the Philippines and Switzerland. The participants learned about Mt. Fuji’s geological and natural environment. Read more

International Safe Mountain Skills Slovenia 2005
This event took place in the Julian Alps, 12 – 20 August. In addition to mountain hiking, the participants took part in climbing, rafting and practicing orientation and navigation.
