Mountain Culture

Since the foundation of the UIAA, the interests of the federation have gone beyond the mere explorations and climbing of mountains: it has been involved with the local culture of the people living in the high valleys of  the world and distributing this knowledge with all means at its disposal. Mountain Culture was discussed at the 2010 UIAA General Assembly in Bormio, Italy. It was decided to promote initiatives associated with Member Federations with links to museums, libraries and events.
