 The Global Youth Summit event took place in South Africa's "Dragon Mountains" between July 11 and 19. 

If you have never before climbed a 5,000 meter peak, here is your chance. This summer young mountaineers aged 16-30 years old will attempt to ascend Mt. Kazbek in Georgia.

 Russian mountaineers are inviting climbers aged 18-25 years old to a week-long festival of rock climbing, peak ascents and swimming in the  Black Sea. 

The first Global Youth Summit event of this year took place in Slovenia with 21 participants from seven different countries. 

Young hikers between 14 and 17 years of age are invited to a week of trekking in the mountains of Abruzzo, Italy.

Young climbers from 16 to 29 years of age are invited to an international climbing camp in Geyibayiri, Antalya, Turkey next month.

The Youth Commission is pledging to use the declaration from the recent World Sport for All Congress  when forming action plans and initiatives.

Young climbers aged 17 to 25 are invited to a week of climbing and hiking in the Bicaz Gorges national park in Romania. The camp will welcome mountaineers of all abilities from August 15-23.

Young mountaineers between 18 and 30 have the chance to take part in an international ascent of the highest peak of Europe next summer.

The Alpine Association of Slovenia (PZS) is inviting young mountaineers to a ski touring camp in Slovenia from March 1 – March 7, 2009. The event will be next year's first Global Youth Summit event.
