Indian Creek set to be world's climbing hotspot

The American Alpine Club (AAC) is preparing to host climbers from all over the world at their second annual International Climbers Meet in October. Following the tradition started last year, the meet will be held in Indian Creek, Utah, United States, from October 1-12.

"The AAC was thrilled to have 23 countries participate last year and we hope that you will consider joining us again for yet another successful event," says Dana Richardson on behalf of the club.

The organisers would like each UIAA Member Federation to nominate two climbers, one man and one woman, who should both be able to lead a UIAA VII-  grade (French 6b).

On the programme is five days of crack climbing, campfires, guest speakers and slide shows, not to mention a few parties and BBQs.

AAC host climbers will give the participants the grand tour of the area, introducing them to Indian Creek, described as a "worldwide climbing destination for over three decades".
 
The visiting climbers will need to organise their own travel to Salt Lake City International Airport and pay a registration fee of US$175. Other expenses will be covered by the AAC.
