Job Posting: Event Coordinator sought for UIAA competition events

EVENT COORDINATOR

The UIAA – International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation is looking for an Event
Coordinator for its headquarters located in Bern, Switzerland.

The successful candidate will report to the Office Manager and is charged of UIAA sports event
coordination including the UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup on a 80% part-time basis.

Starting date: September 15, 2014

Responsibilities include:

  • Act as main liaison of the Office Manager and coordinate information and implementation of decisions
  • Coordinate and implement host city selection and contracting procedures
  • Develop and manage relationships with local organizing committees, providing project management assistance
  • Initiate and approve working procedures, check lists, guidelines, templates, manuals
  • Generate and disseminate high quality progress reports
  • On-site coordination and communication, when necessary
  • Write event evaluation reports
  • Coordinate marketing and communication activities
  • Take on other responsibilities under particular circumstances

Experience and skills:

  • A degree in business administration and / or in sport management
  • Experience in organizing events (national and / or international)
  • Experience in managing multiple stakeholders, including volunteers
  • Complete familiarity with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic and international environment
  • Cooperative attitude and knowledge sharing-approach
  • Fluency in English
