UIAA members invited to Indian Mountaineering Foundation meet on Himalayan mountaineering and tourism

The Indian Mountaineering Foundation has extended an invitation to UIAA member federations to attend the Himalayan Mountaineering & Tourism Meet in India in November.
The meeting is being held in Srinigar, Jammu & Kashmir 1 – 5 November, 2012 and the IMF will provide local hospitality (free board, lodging and transport from airport) in Srinigar to representatives of UIAA member federations.

The theme for this year’s gathering involves globalization, climate change and other emerging forces that are creating new challenges and dilemmas, as well as opportunities, for the Himalayan regions. Organizers say the 2012 India Summit will bring together stake holders, researchers, policy makers, development practitioners and adventure and tourism professionals from the Himalayan regions and around the world for an encompassing update, stock-taking, and new agenda setting.
