UIAA congratulates new Indian governor

N.N. Vohra, a member of the UIAA Management Committee and former president of the Indian Mountaineering Federation, has been appointed governor of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.  

"The UIAA welcomes the appointment of N.N. Vohra to the post of governor of Jammu and Kashmir," said Mike Mortimer, UIAA president. "Mr Vohra has made valuable contributions to to the international mountaineering community as a member of the UIAA's Management Committee."

Vohra has previously been the Indian home secretary. He was sworn into office on June 25.
