The PUBLIC SEARCH function allows mountaineers, climbers and all interested stakeholders to look for UIAA Safety Label certified products available in the market through various Brands. This feature enables transparency.

A recall is a request to return to the manufacturer a batch or an entire production run of a product, usually due to the discovery of safety issues. The UIAA endeavors to maintain a listing of recalled climbing equipment including partial recalls as well as appeals for checking equipment. Use this search to find affected equipment.

Blacklist and Advice Notices

The UIAA warns that the following brands may be using the UIAA name and/or Safety Label logo with out UIAA authorisation:

Frendo (France) depicts the UIAA logo on its website and claims UIAA certification for its ropes, karabiners, quick draws, via ferrate, braking devices and harnesses. Frendo is not a Safety Label holder and it does not have a UIAA certification for any of its equipment. UIAA warns that the equipment may not meet the UIAA safety standards.

A probe has found that that the lanyard's strength was dramatically affected after intensive use not only because of its specific construction but also due to the material used.More info
