If you want to take part in all the activities mountains can offer, here is a great opportunity. From the 27 July to 3 August 2008, the Alpine Association of Slovenia is organising an international mountain adventure youth camp.
This month, the Eco Everest 2008 expedition is field testing an environmentally-friendly approach to climbing. The expedition also aims to draws attention to climate change and has unveiled the world’s highest photo exhibition.
A youth camp for young climbers of all abilities is being organised in Romania this summer. The area has over 200 climbing routes to choose from, and there will also be hiking and other mountain activities.
There is much to choose from in the summer camp programme for the Global Youth Summit. One of the events is the International Youth rock climbing and mountaineering festival “Europe – Asia 2008" in Russia.
If you are between 16-29 years old and would like to learn how to set new climbing routes, head to the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia this summer. The Macedonian Sport Climbing Federation is organising a youth camp in Demir Kapija 1-7 July 2008.
15-18 May 2008 the Russian Mountaineering Federation and the Red Fox company are organising the Red Fox Elbrus Race festival. The programme includes a high-speed run to the Elbrus Peak, snow-shoes race and ski-mountaineering competitions.
