The UIAA has released the first of its global members’ newsletters for 2024.
Produced in collaboration with the UIAA Management Board Continental Representatives, this newsletter provides updates from the UIAA’s 97 member organisations in 71 countries on six continents. Please note that some articles linked are in their original language but in most cases Google offers a translation of the page.
Highlights this quarter include: significant progress made by the German Alpine Club in climate change tracking and reporting; safety updates from the Swiss Alpine Club, Norwegian Climbing Federation, Swedish Climbing Federation and American Alpine Club; impressive membership figures announced by the Federació d’Entitats Excursionistes de Catalunya; preparation for a major international medical conference in Argentina; a sustainability award for the Mountain Club of South Africa; the release of the Alpine Club of Canada‘s State of the Mountains report; a dedicated campaign for female climbers from the British Mountaineering Council and ice climbing news from the Czech Mountaineering Association and Royal Dutch Climbing and Mountaineering Club.
