I think it’s going to be a great season and I look forward to meeting you all at the competitions, so please come and say hello! The information below should help you plan your ice climbing competition season. I hope you all have a great season! To contact me directly please email iceclimbing@theuiaa.org
2018 Season Calendar. Final Updates
As communicated in mid November the final component of the 2018 UIAA Ice Climbing World Tour has been confirmed. Hohhot will host the event in China on 2-4 February. Full story: https://www.theuiaa.org/ice-climbing/chinese-venue-confirmed-for-2018-world-cup/
Olympics Winter Games, PyeongChang, South Korea
The UIAA has been working with the Korean Alpine Federation (KAF) to organise a demonstration ice climbing event to be part of the cultural programme at the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang in February 2018. A final decision on whether this event will take place will be made at the end of November. If this event does go ahead, the UIAA will work quickly to get the information to athletes as fast as possible, so you can make your travel plans accordingly.

UIAA Athlete Handbook 2018
For the first time, the UIAA has published a dedicated Athletes’ Handbook. The Guide comprises details on how to register and follow the events and a comprehensive insight into the logistics for each of the World Cup, World Youth Championships and European Cup events (note – there is still some outstanding information on the Hohhot and Cheongsong World Cup events but these will be updated both in the Handbook and on the website shortly). We hope athletes find this Guide useful and if you have any comments or would like to see other information included please don’t hesitate to let us know.
The Handbook can be downloaded here.
