2018 UIAA
Mountain Protection Award

Welcome to the showcase area for the 2018 UIAA Mountain Protection Award. All nominated projects will be available to view in this area.

Community Action Nepal was confirmed as the winner of the 2018 UIAA Mountain Protection Award during the UIAA General Assembly in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on 6 October, 2018.

Fondation Gran Paradis was awarded runner up and Tracks Safety as best new initiative.

Founded in 1932, the UIAA is the international federation for climbing and mountaineering. The International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation (UIAA) was founded in 1932 and has a global presence on six continents representing 94 member associations and federations in 69 countries. The UIAA has been recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) since 1995.
