Safety and sustainability, two of the three pillars of the UIAA, will be on the agenda of the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation at upcoming international tradeshows in China and Germany.
Led by UIAA Safety Commission President Amit Chowdhury and Safety Label Administrator Stephanie Stettbacher, the UIAA’s presence at ISPO Beijing, 24-27 January, will focus on mountain safety. ISPO Beijing is the leading multi-sports exhibition in Asia uniting leading market players, concentrated know-how, pioneering innovations and business solutions.
On Wednesday 24 January, 13:00-14:00 local time, Amit Chowdhury will deliver a presentation titled ‘Why climbers should look for a Safety Label on their gear: The role of UIAA in safe climbing’. From 28-31 January, the focus turns to ISPO Munich where UIAA Director of Operations Nils Glatthard and Sustainability Coordinator Gloria Scarano will be in attendance to promote the UIAA’s core projects in mountain protection. At ISPO Munich more than 2,700 exhibitors present their latest products from sectors such as snow sports, outdoor, health and fitness and urban and teamsports.
