The UIAA wishes to state that the Indian Society of Mountain Medicine is currently not a body accredited to hold courses nor award certificates under the syllabus of the UIAA/ISMM/ICAR Diploma of Mountain Medicine.
It has been brought to the attention of the UIAA that the Indian Society of Mountain Medicine is advertising itself as an accredited body for the UIAA/ISMM/ICAR Diploma of Mountain Medicine. The UIAA has also received several requests from individuals concerned about the validity of the course.
Despite repeated requests from the UIAA, the Indian Society of Mountain Medicine has not removed this reference nor sought to accredited itself through the official channels. The UIAA will now review this matter with the relevant authorities in India.
