The second International Mountain Youth Camp of the Cyprus Mountaineering, Climbing and Orienteering Federation, C.M.C.O.F will take place between 10-15 July 2023, at the federation’s mountain hut, near the village Spilia, at Troodos Mountains.
The activity programme will be designed, implemented and coordinated by the NGO Active Zone Outdoor, member of C.M.C.O.F., in cooperation with the C.M.C.O.F. The camp will host around 25-30 children and young people, aged 8-16, coming from different cities of Cyprus and member countries of the UIAA.
Participants will have the opportunity to receive a certificate of participation in a mountain camp, issued by the UIAA. The six days activity programme, will include activities aiming to cultivate mountain culture and respect, develop good practices in rock climbing and hiking among children and youth. Participants will be able to get familiar with the sport of orienteering and acquire soft skills such as team-building, respectfulness, communication, creativity, friendliness, confidence, decision-making, problem solving and more.
Technical advisors of C.M.C.O.F., hiking leaders, climbing instructors, youth workers and teachers will join forces and support the youth camp.
